Williamson County gained two new Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers after the agency graduated its historic 100th class on Thursday, Sept. 24.

Samuel Lallo and Richard McGee were among 27 troopers in THP Class 100 and are now assigned to Williamson County, according to Maury County Source. The county received two of the 27 graduates, matching Robertson County and exceeding most other counties, which each received one.

The ceremony took place at Hermitage Hills Baptist Church. Gov. Bill Lee delivered the keynote address, joined by Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security Commissioner Jeff Long and THP Col. Matt Perry, according to a state press release.

It was the 100th trooper class since THP was established in 1929.

"Graduation is not the end of your preparation. It is the beginning of your service," Col. Perry told the graduates.

The 27 troopers completed 17 weeks of training that began May 31. The class collectively brings 37 years of prior military service, the state said.
