Summit's volleyball team hosts Franklin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, in a District 10-AAA match with regular-season title implications.

The Spartans (20-13, 11-2 district) close out their district schedule against an Admirals squad that has not lost a district match all season. Franklin enters at 24-1 overall and 13-0 in District 10-AAA, riding a 17-match win streak, according to MaxPreps. The Admirals' only loss came against St. Henry on Aug. 22 in a tournament match.

Summit sits second in the district at 11-2. A Spartans win would tighten the race heading into the district playoffs.

A Summit High School announcement described Thursday's rematch as a potential battle for the regular-season title and the top playoff seed in District 10-AAA. The school designated the match a Pink Out and asked fans to wear pink.

The two teams met once already this season. Franklin won 3-2 on Sept. 10 at Franklin in a five-set match. Summit will look to flip the result on its home court at 2830 Twin Lakes Dr. in Spring Hill.

Senior outside hitter Emery Estep figures to be central to that effort. Estep piled up 13 kills in the Spartans' three-set sweep of Page on Sept. 22, winning 25-23, 25-21, 25-22. Senior setter Tessa Rowe told the Williamson Herald after the Sept. 22 win that Estep's court vision sets her apart.

"She sees the court so well. She really has a high IQ, executing and putting that ball down," Rowe said.

Junior Nonie Yancy recorded three of Summit's six blocks in the Page win. Senior Estep praised Yancy's growth after that match, telling the Williamson Herald that Yancy has stepped up as a front-row blocker. Senior setter Raegan Burtch added a block in the first set against Page.

Both teams played Sept. 29. Summit fell 3-1 at Nolensville, while Franklin swept Brentwood 3-0.

The district playoffs follow the regular season, though specific dates and brackets have not been announced. Thursday's result will help determine seeding.

First serve is 6 p.m. at Summit High School.
