Summit High School's girls soccer team beat Brentwood 9-0 in the District 10-AAA quarterfinals, punching a ticket to a semifinal matchup against unbeaten Franklin.
The Summit athletics department announced the result on X. The team did not release individual goal scorers.
The Spartans (11-4) will face the Admirals (16-0) at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, in the district semifinals, according to MaxPreps. Franklin is ranked No. 3 in Tennessee and No. 9 nationally. Summit enters at No. 7 in the state and No. 41 nationally.
Franklin has not allowed a single goal in 16 games this season, outscoring opponents 97-0. Goalkeeper Bethany Louder holds a 0.000 goals-against average, per MaxPreps. Senior forward Aubry Gates, a Kansas State commitment, leads the attack with 43 goals.
The two teams met once already this season. Franklin won 3-0 at Summit on Sept. 9, as the Williamson Herald reported. Madelyn Ku scored twice and Gates added a goal, with keeper Ella Doty preserving the shutout.
After the Sept. 9 loss, Summit coach Deni Ismailovic told the Williamson Herald he respected the Admirals' quality. "They don't have many holes … They're very physical, and tonight, I think, they were very physical with us," Ismailovic said at the time. He added that his squad was young, having lost four senior starters and started six freshmen and sophomores.
Summit has a proven scorer in senior Summer Riley, a University of Florida commitment. Riley had 18 goals and six assists through late September, according to a Nashville Tennessean midseason nomination piece. Her current totals entering the playoffs were not available.
Friday's semifinal pairs Riley's scoring against a Franklin defense that has not allowed a goal all season. The winner advances in the District 10-AAA tournament.
