Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home will hold its 25th annual Veterans Day service at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, at 5239 Main St., according to the Williamson Herald.

The ceremony will feature a keynote address by Gregory A. Mays and a musical performance by Nashville native Jenny Gill. Refreshments and cookies will be served.

Mays is deputy commissioner of the Tennessee Office of Homeland Security (OHS), a position he has held since January 2020. His work there has focused on investigating threats to life, evaluating school threats and protecting critical infrastructure.

Before joining the OHS, Mays spent 25 years with the U.S. Secret Service, retiring as assistant special agent in charge of the Nashville Field Office. His career began in the Navy, where he served on active duty as an officer and completed multiple deployments, including missions supporting Operation Desert Storm. An Auburn University graduate, Mays lives in Franklin with his wife and two daughters.

Gill grew up in a country music household. Her father, Vince Gill, is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, and her mother, Janis Oliver, is half of the duo Sweethearts of the Rodeo. She earned a music business degree from Middle Tennessee State University and toured as a background vocalist with Amy Grant for about a decade starting in 2010. She is also a cast member of the comedy troupe Short Ribs.

This December, Gill will return as a supporting vocalist for the "Amy Grant and Vince Gill Christmas at the Ryman" residency in Nashville.
