Spring Hill families can sign up for a free Halloween engineering challenge through the Williamson County Public Library System's (WCPLS) After School STEAM Club in October.
Children ages 6 to 11 will build a haunted house using only paper, scissors and glue, according to the library system's event listing. The catch: the structure must be sturdy enough to support various objects.
Registration is required. It opened Sept. 17 on the WCPLS website.
A confirmed session runs Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Franklin Children's Activity Room, 1314 Columbia Ave. Spring Hill families looking for a session closer to home can check SpringHillLibrary.org or call the Spring Hill Public Library at 931-486-2932. The Spring Hill branch is at 144 Kedron Parkway.
The STEAM Club rotates monthly through science, technology, engineering, art and math topics. October's focus is engineering.
WCPLS serves more than 165,000 residents through six locations across Williamson County, including the Spring Hill branch. The library system is also collecting community input for its 2027–2030 Strategic Plan through a survey open until Oct. 15 at WCPLTN.org, as the Williamson Herald reported.
The Spring Hill Public Library will be closed Monday, Oct. 12, for staff training and will reopen at regular hours Tuesday, Oct. 13.
