Grecian Family Restaurant reopened Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 2003 Wall St. in Spring Hill after a five-day closure that fueled online speculation about celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.

The restaurant announced it is returning with "a new look, a new chef, a new menu and new cooks," Maury County Source first reported. A soft opening is running Wednesday and Thursday from 7 to 11 a.m. with breakfast service only. The restaurant said its breakfast menu is not changing and invited customers to "come and see what is changing."

Grecian had announced on social media that it would close from Oct. 16 through Oct. 20 for "equipment maintenance and a few changes around the restaurant." A large tent was set up outside the building during the closure, according to Maury County Source.

The tent and the timing fed speculation on social media that Ramsay was filming a restaurant renovation show at the Spring Hill location. A casting call posted in a Nashville Reddit thread sought diners for a filmed service at what it called the show's "final Tennessee location this year."

The post asked interested diners to put "Spring Hill" in the subject line. It did not name Grecian Family Restaurant and said the show's name could not be shared because of nondisclosure agreements.

No one has confirmed filming took place.

Neither the restaurant nor Ramsay's team has responded to the speculation, according to Maury County Source. Ramsay and his team have not announced a new show in production, the outlet reported.

The speculation follows a pattern across Middle Tennessee. The Tennessean reported Oct. 15 that Ramsay and a production crew were spotted at Vuocolo's Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar in Ashland City, which also announced a brief closure.

In July, casting company JS Casting issued a call for struggling restaurants within a 40-mile radius of Nashville to appear on an unnamed show with Ramsay, as Williamson Source reported. The application was listed as the "Untitled Gordon Ramsay Project (Working Title)," according to The Tennessean.

Grecian Family Restaurant and Bakery serves hand-tossed pizzas, homemade pasta, and Greek and Italian dishes at its Wall Street location. The restaurant has not announced when full regular hours will resume beyond the two-day soft opening.
