Thompson's Station will resurface roads in the Heritage Commons commercial area starting Sunday, Oct. 11, with a target completion date of Friday, Oct. 16.
Nickell Contracting LLC will handle the work on Thompson's Ridge Road, Traders Way and two connector streets, according to a town notice posted Wednesday, Oct. 7. Crews will mill about 1.5 inches of existing asphalt, clean the roadway and lay 1.5 inches of new surface asphalt. Work begins at 8 p.m. on Thompson's Ridge Road.
All paving will happen overnight, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., and is scheduled to overlap with Williamson County Schools' fall break. The WCS student calendar shows students off Monday, Oct. 12, through Friday, Oct. 16. Monday is Columbus Day. Tuesday, Oct. 13, is a district-wide professional development day with no students in school. The system is fully closed Wednesday through Friday.
The town said the overnight schedule and fall break timing were chosen to reduce disruptions to businesses, employees, customers and school traffic.
All roads will stay open during the project. Motorists should expect brief delays as crews flag traffic around active paving areas.
The town's notice warned that weather or equipment problems could push the timeline. The notice did not include a project cost.
A map of the affected streets is attached to the town's notice online.
